Executive Chef Stephen Claussell

A New York native Stephen discovered his passion for food at an early age. His mother of Italian decent had a passion for cooking that resonated into every dish. Her knowledge combined with his passion for food, led to his desire to pursue a culinary career.

In 2006, Stephen entered the acclaimed A.C.E Program at the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation, Stephen was determined to apply his skills he acquired by working as the Chef De Cuisine at the renowned five star hotel and four star restaurant, Mark Hotel in New York City. After two years, Stephen moved on to become the Chef De Cuisine and helped open the fine dining restaurant, the Walkers Grill in Alexandria, Virginia which was noted honorably for their contemporary fine dining of American cuisine.

In 2011 Stephen took his talents to the University Club in his hometown of Washington DC. As the executive chef Stephen helped serve some of the world’s most influential people. In 2013, he took the Executive Chef position at the Blue Moon in York Pennsylvania. In 2015 Stephen reunited with his childhood best friend, Anthony Santiago, who is now a successful businessman in New York. They set out to make Stephens restaurant vision a reality in the nestled quaint village of Northport. 7T8 fuses together Stephen’s passion for French & Italian cuisine.

Designed by the renowned restaurateur Raymond Haldeman, Stephen’s vision was realized. Still today Stephen continues to pour his mothers passion for cooking and his unique flair into every dish he prepares.
